On Restoration: Methods for Preservation FW26/27, draws from the Ajanta caves and their murals, engaging with their language of layered pigment, architectural carving and centuries of restoration. Silhouettes take cues from the organic drape and sculptural stillness of the figures, while jewellery and ornamental detailing translate into tactile surfaces.
At its core, the collection explores restoration as continuation. Hand knitting is approached as a living practice, extending beyond its familiar associations into a more experimental vocabulary, shaped both by craft and personal lineage. Surfaces are built through embroidery, crochet appliqué and layered construction, creating depth that feels accumulated over time.
The palette reflects mineral pigments, softened blues, maroons and olive tones, while materials move between Indian wool, silks, denim and tweeds. The silhouettes remain relaxed yet deliberate, balancing structure with ease.
