Paintings, architecture, music, textiles and centuries of handwork sit in the background of the clothes, sometimes recognisably, sometimes only as a colour, a shape or a fleeting idea. Hand-knitting, handloom, embroidery and tailoring are given equal billing, resulting in clothes that can be highly crafted without feeling precious.

The label finds its footing in collision: old techniques with new proportions, elaborate surfaces with easy clothes, the irregularity of the hand with the discipline of a good cut. Anand learnt to knit from her mother and grandmother, and both remain closely involved in her practice today. That lineage is not simply part of the story; it is part of how the clothes come to life. For Taarini Anand, craft is inheritance, instinct and a reason to keep making things differently.
